My favorite breakfast cereal is Raisin Bran. Now Raisin Bran has "25% more raisins!" This is too many raisins, damn it! I might as well take a bag of raisins and pour milk on them. I don't like raisins enough to do that. I just want a nice balance of raisins and bran flakes.

Since I turned in my LAST PAPER I've been lazy! I get to be lazy now (at least for awhile). I went to Moulin Rouge last Wednesday, and I rented some DVDs... I rented Traffic and Quills. Quills is about the Marquis de Sade when he was locked up in the Charenton lunatic asylum. Geoffrey Rush plays the Marquis, and the divine Kate Winslet (everyone go rent Heavenly Creatures right now!) plays the laundry maid who smuggles his writing out of the asylum. It's all terribly naughty. You get to see Kate Winslet's breasts (big surprise there! heh.) and Geoffrey Rush's... um... swimsuit area. It's kind of like when Harvey Keitel showed his, er, business in The Piano. You think, "Well... look at that. There it is." It's not like when Ewan McGregor shows his naked self, and you get all blushy in the theater 'cause he's cute and you have a movie crush on him. And by "you" I mean "me." The movie is pretty funny in a bawdy way, and Geoffrey Rush and Kate Winslet are very good.

You don't get to see any famous swimsuit areas in Traffic but the movie's good anyway. I usually can't stand Michael Douglas--he seems so smug all the time--but this movie and Wonder Boys are doing a lot to change my mind. All the good things people have said about this movie are true. Benicio Del Toro is incredible.

Besides renting movies I've also been shopping for books that are NOT REQUIRED for school! I've bought (and read already!) the first two Harry Potter books. I think I need to pace the other two out 'cause otherwise I'll go crazy waiting for the newest one. I also bought Underground by Haruki Murakami, about the 1995 Aum sarin gas attack in the Tokyo subway. Next Friday is the graduation ceremony, and then I'll really and truly be done with my undergraduate education. ulp.
