pretty smells

So I went downtown and shopped a bit yesterday. I haven't been shopping downtown in awhile--at least not the "shopping district" part of downtown with the malls and the Niketown and the Banana Republic. I like the grotty part of downtown with the little bookstores and the funky weird shops.

So the shiny part of downtown. I went to the Aveda store because I'm addicted to the smell of their "Shampure." I'm convinced that I only smell pretty when I've used that shampoo and thus I must spend $9 for an 8.5 oz bottle of it or risk smelling like ugly cheap shampoo. After I wash my hair with Aveda I spend the day swishing my hair back and forth just so I can catch a whiff of that smell. It's like crack to me! I also lusted after the perfumes but they were like $50 a bottle and I wasn't feeling that indulgent right then.

Then I went to the Womany-Goddessy-Magicky shop to look for my favorite incense but they didn't have it in. I need the Blue Lavender! It's the prettiest! I bought some Jasmine anyway because I'm out and I like the apartment to smell pretty, even if it's not like Blue Lavender. The Womany-Goddessy-Magicky shop has all these little candles and mysterious books and figures and things about getting to know your Woman power and stuff. The clerks are all witchy and usually nice and give you an extra incense stick with your purchases, but this time the clerk didn't help me in my quest for Blue Lavender and was rather curt with me. I think she knew I wasn't very Womany-Goddessy-Magicky and was treating me like an interloper.

Then I went to a bookstore and spent more than I should have.

I didn't get a single X-Mas present!

Selfish shopping day.
