ok, I just had a weird dream and I'm gonna write it down because I almost never remember my dreams when I wake up.

I was very tired and out of it (as per usual!) and I was trying to get in touch with my mom. I called and called and finally got her. She asked why I wasn't moving yet. I said "wha?" and she replied "don't you remember, you got a new apartment the other day." I said I didn't know, and she described a lovely old brick building with hardwood floors and a gas range.

For $357.

I said ok and went along with it. When I talked to my dad I said I'd have to break my lease here, but not getting the deposit back would be ok since the new place was so much cheaper.

(this is what I dream about??! gag.)

So I pack everything up and go to the new place. The building is great on the outside. I talk to the manager and he opens the front door and lets me in, then takes off. Inside the front door is one huge steep staircase--there's basically the basement and the top floor, I can't see any way to get to the floors in between.

I go all the way upstairs to my new apartment and when I open the door at the top of the stairs it opens on to the roof. I'm just standing there when someone comes up and says "you can get in through the window." I walk over and there's a sort of penthouse-type structure, with windows looking out on the roof. I climb in through the window and I'm in my new kitchen (which has an electric range, by the way).

I look around and notice that there are doorways without doors in the kitchen and living room that open on another apartment. With a family living in it. The wife looks up and talks to me, saying we'll just have to get used to it. I start looking around for the missing doors or something I can use to block the doorways. I'm trying to do this discretely because I don't want the family to think I'm rude.

All of a sudden I realize I didn't get the key from the manager. I look for a phone and I try to ask the family if I can use theirs but they're all ignoring me. So I pick up the handset and realize I don't know his number. That's when I woke up.
